Here’s Why Employer Support Is Needed For The Surge In Retirees

A member of the Forbes Council, author Lorraine Wiseman recently had an article published in Forbes on why this year will be one to remember. 

According to the publication 401K Specialist, 4.18 million people will reach retirement age in 2025. While this number is high as Baby Boomers continue to exit the workforce, the statistic of greater significant concern is that 28% of those retiring will struggle psychologically to the point of depression.

As Lorraine poses as a question to the reader in the article:  How Can Employers Support This Generation Of Retirees?  Based on my recent dissertation research, there are three main questions that employees will ask themselves during the transition to retirement: Is it time? What is my purpose beyond the workplace? Who are my people?
